The Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou announced the upcoming construction of a major photovoltaic park in Western Macedonia.
The Greek power corporation, DEI, in its long term strategy of alternative energy sources, will proceed towards a tender process in selecting a partner and supplier for the design and construction of the photovoltaic park in Kozani Macedonia.
Greece is required by the European Union to produce by 2013 about 20 percent of its energy from alternative non fossil fuel sources.
